N. J. Amar, M.D.

N. J. Amar, M.D. is board certified by both The American Board of Pediatrics and The American Board of Allergy & Immunology. He completed medical school and pediatric residency training in India. After a few years of practice in India, he completed pediatric residency training at Downstate Medical School in New York. He went on to complete a fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Rutgers Medical School.

Dr. Amar has excelled throughout his education and career. He was a top graduate of his medical school and residency classes. For these notable achievements, Dr. Amar was awarded three gold medals, the highest medical honor bestowed to Indian physicians. As a dedicated physician and clinical researcher, he has been named one of the Best Doctors in America and included in the prestigious list of America’s Top Physicians.

Dr. Amar has been practicing in Waco since 1982. He practiced as a solo practitioner for many years before welcoming two well-qualified associates who share his philosophy of treating patients with compassion, respect, and fairness. In 1997, he started the research center for the advancement of treatments in his specialty and has conducted multiple trials and authored or co-authored a number of papers.
